i have really long hair (im guy) im cutting it short...the style in this salon to cut hair is by not washing the hair at all and just cutting it dry they believe that if you wash it and cut the hair looks shorter.....Is this philosophy worth the try? Thanks =)

Well i suppose the water would keep the hair flatter but i dont know really, sorry. :)

A lot of stylists like to dry cut hair. The reason why is that hair acts differently when it is wet (curly hair shrinks up etc.) So you can usually get a more precise cut or angle if you can see how the hair will actually lie when its dry. That is why even if you get a wet haircut, they will usually blowdry it out afterwards and do any necessary touch-ups.
