Cutting my hair, good or bad??

my hair is long, half way down my back. I was thinkin about getting layers. But some people dont think i should because my hair is already really think. And I know i dont look good with short hair so I'm not even going to try. But like 4-5 layers.....would it look ok?

i think it would look better with just one or two layers, one halfway down your hair and (if you get another) halfway down the last layer, but i don't know how you're hair acctually looks, soo...

you should defintaley go with long layers. also you may want to wait til the summer or spring to do it. winter is coming. but i have layers and my hair is thick, also mine is down to the middle of my back. if you dont look good with short hair, the best thing to do is stay away from contouring it around your face.

People said the same to me, but I still went ahead and got those layers I wanted. The trick is to ask the FIRST LAYER TO BE BELOW YOUR CHIN. If the first layer is below your chin and closer to the nape of the neck, you're safe. And, please try and avoid hair that is too long.

Also get some bright highlights to add some oomph to your look.

I say go for it. It would look good. Have your hair cut into long layers. You might lose some inches to your hair but it will still be long. My hair is also really thick and it looks a lot better layered. You should at least try it. Or ask your hairstylist what she thinks. Maybe get some pictures from magazines to help you get an idea of what your hair might look like. Or even to help you find a certain style.

What do you mean 4 or 5 layers? Actually all the hair will be brought out at a 90 degree angle and then cut,it's not 4 or 5 five layers even though it may look that way to you. It's not like the hair is cut straight across in 4 or 5 lines. Do you understand what I mean? I hope it doesn't sound like I'm trying to be mean because I'm not,I just want you to understand exactly what you would be getting. If your hair is thin,I really would not layer the back especially if you don't want to take off any length. You could do long layers in the front and sides that would blend in with the back,or you could have the front and sides tapered. If your hair is fine in texture but you have allot of it then you could layer the back. Good luck in whatever you choose.
