Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

No. Hair length changes will have no effect on lice.

Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

only if you shave it off, other than that it won't make any difference, use RID a couple of times, it should get rid of them

Lice live on your scalp so unless you were shaving your head and them putting somekind of medicine on it I would think not really. It may be easier to spot the lice with less hair but it won't get rid of them. They make special shampoos that will eventually kill all of the lice. So I would ask your parents for that before cutting your hair.

Hope this helps and good luck

Cutting your hair will not solve the problem. Shaving your head will. There is medication, you know.

No you need to treat it with a lice killer product. Then do it again a few days later. You have to get the eggs out the best you can. If you dont treat it again there will still be eggs in your hair that will hatch.

Lice like CLEAN, contrary to popular belief. Ways to avoid lice if you've been exposed and don't yet have them, would be to wear product in your hair like hairspray or mousse, and wash it less frequently, like every other day instead of every day. If you already have lice, the only thing that will get rid of them is lice shampoo or other lice treatments you can buy over the counter at a retail store or a pharmacy. Hair length has nothing to do with it at all.

Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

No, cutting hair will not help get rid of lice. Although it will make your parents feel better to do it. I cut my kids' hair when the school said they had lice ... then when I took them to the doctor I found out they didn't have lice. Duh!

The lice must be treated with a wash or shampoo that will kill them. And all your bedding and clothing you have been wearing have to be treated as well. Then you need to do the treatment again ... the instructions come with the product.

It does help through the process of combing and shampooing and combing out again to have short hair.

Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

Not really - in the 18th century it was tried and people wore wigs but lice can live in very short hair. You need to get a good louse comb and have regular deterrent hair washes.

Avoid strong insecticides if you can - see the link.

Oh and your parents will probably have lice as well!

Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

nope. it won't help. get lice treatment condidionters and use the lice comb. the conditioner will kill the already hatched lice and the comb will helpy get them out of your hair. BUT nothing can kill the lice EGGS so you have to keep repeating the conditioner and combing process until you don't get any more knits (eggs) or hatched lice in the comb.

totaly clean out the place where you sleep (probably your bedroom lol) cause there's probably lice in there. take all your blankets and pillows and sheets and stuffed animals and put them in trashbags and tie them super tight. leave it in there for a few weeks. it will suffacate (ignore spelling) any of the bugs.

Good luck!

The only way to remove lice through hair cutting is to cut it ALL off. If they're not going to have it all cut off, don't even bother cutting any of it.

There are chemicals that can remove the lice and their eggs, but this is very expensive. Perhaps this is why your parents want to go the less expensive way. But it won't help unless they shave your head.

Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

No. Cutting your hair won't do anything unless you shave it off. You need a good Rid shampoo from the pharmacy, wash all your bedding, hairbrushes, anything that your head has come in contact with. My daughter went on a sleep over and came back with those little things, and I tryed everything. You need to get a tiny comb to get the eggs or they will reinfest your head. You might need a couple applications, but if you live near somewhere that sells Mexican products look for Herklin. When my daughter went to Mexico she got them again, and my mother in law bought that stuff. You would not believe how fast it kills all of them. Don't let your momma cut your hair, it won't do any good. Try to find it, you won't be disappointed. Good luck sweety

Will cutting your hair help get rid of lice?

No, it won't help kill the lice, but yes, it will make getting rid of them easier because short hair is easier to use a finecomb on - and less painful for you because short hair will tangle less easily.

You should use special lice killing shampoo and then finecomb your hair each day. The shampoo will kill the lice but sometimes it is harder to be sure the eggs are dead. You use the finecomb to check there are no new lice hatched, they will be trapped in the comb, and if you haven't found any for 4 or 5 days, then you have the problem sorted.

It only takes one louse to lay eggs within a day or two of hatching, and the cycle has started all over again. Get several days louse-free, and you're OK in the clear.

Pay extra attention to the area beind the ears and the back of the neck - those are favorite spots.

It wont do anything unless you shave your hair off. Dont use RID because most lice have built up immunity to the poisons in the RID use the Wal-Mart brand it works best. Lice like CLEAN hair best, not dirty. Only wash your hair once every few days not every day.
