My hair is super long..and soft and smooth and beautiful..Everyone is like "EMILY! I love your hair!" and they touch all over it and what not. [that's the annoying part when nobody leaves you alone about it..]..and anyways..it's just..long.that's it. no style or anything.
So, since it's summer..I want to enter the new grade with a new hair cut. :]

Why do you hate salons, it can't be that bad to go to one can it? I really don't think you should do it yourself the most you would probably be able to do is just cut it shorter, it would be really hard to give it a style or anything. If you really want to though, you can cut your hair in layers by putting all your hair into a pony tail right in the middle of the top of your head, and cut the pony tail to the desired length, I don't know if it would turn out all right though, it could be a disaster. But anyway if you insist on doing it yourself, it might be easier if you had a friend help you.

I have one word for you about cutting your own hair: DON'T!
You can't see how your own hair hangs (in back especially), and trying to cut it right is going to be a nightmare. I suspect you'd just land up in a salon anyway, so save yourself the anguish and go to a salon to start with.
I know whereof I speak - my hair is waist-length, and there's no way I'd try to cut it myself!

Look through magazines to see what styles you like..compare the facial shape of the model who has that style to yours and if the shapes match, then you can go for it.
Talk to a stylist also to get their opinion on the style of the cut. Do NOT cut your hair yourself. Ever!! You will regret it.

make sure you do it right. when cutting yer hair short only go a little bit at a time cuz if u want more u can do more but if you cut off too much itll have to grow bak. and always have someone help you with the bak of your hair.

If you cut your hair yourself, your going to wreck it. Just go to a salon. Try a shoulder length cut with lots of layers! If your happy with the length just add some layers, it will give it some style.

do not cut your own hair!!! im a hairdresser and c this all the time!! its so much easier to have it done professionally rather that the possibility of cuttin it all off cos u wanted to do it yourself!!!

i cut my hair myself all the time. make sure you have a steady hand and do tiny sections at a time to be sure it's all the same length instead of lopsided. If you aren't POSITIVE you can do a decent job by yourself DON"T DO IT. Get you mom or somebody you trust to clip it for you
