if you want a cute part for that, put the part in first.

use a pen, starting just off center and zig zag back 3 inches.

I have long straight hair and it's down to my waist and there isn't much u can do with that type of hair, I've tried alot of things and it doesn't stay (like curling) and it all depends on the type of hair u have, but maybe get a little bit of a layer or the outside (and trim too) and maybe get some highlights of different colors...if your hair is a light brown, go with blond and red...if your hair is dark, go for darker colors and so forth, i tried that once and it was different...:)
