Cutting your own Hair by pulling it forward?

I saw someone on TV the other night pull her hair forward, twist it and then cut it straight across and it actually looked cool. I'm almost tempted to try it. Anyone do this before, the results? And yes, I realize it will be uneven and such..

Thanks

I do it every two months and take off about 1/4" - 1/2". Yes, its uneven but its slight and I love the look. Make sure your scissors are really sharp to keep from tearing your hair ends.

Please don't if you have thick hair. If you pull it straight forward, all that will happen is you'll have short hair in front and odd choppy layers in back.

You're supposed to pull it straight UP. It's a shortcut cosmetologists use if a client's hair isn't too thick. It gives even layers ONLY IF you brush your hair completely and have ALL of it combed up and held tightly in place. It'd be best if you get someone else to do it for you.

My friends do it all the time! some times it messes up... but if u do it right, it works!

I say go for it. Just try it and cut a little bit off. If you like it, go shorter if you want.

If it turns out horrid you can get it trimmed at a salon.
