Cutting my hair and getting it dyed tomorrow need help.?

Okay so I've been growing my hair out for almost a year now and im getting a haircut tomorrow I'm thinking of just getting it trimmed cause my bangs are way to long and i wear glasses sometimes and they hang over on one side and make it look like one side of my head has more hair and doesn't look even. So im thinking of trimming my bangs razor style and keep my long side burns and keeps the same lenght on top ..Im getting my hair redyed black also and maybe getting gold streaks?

Can anyone tell me about layers and if i can get them or if they would look right and can you show me some pictures of the hair im looking for would be cool and thanks, I'll show you some pics of my hair below.
