Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

I am an African American female and my hair comes a few inches past my shoulders and I really want to layer my hair! I always heard that it takes a long time for your hair to grow out of layers! I actually want my hair to grow but I am tired of my hair being so even, I was something different but I don閳ユ獩 really want to cut a lot of my hair! Can you still get layers without cutting a lot of your hair and will your hair grow back longer?.....Any suggestions?

You could do layers, or you could just taper it more around your face and still have your length. OR, you could just have them layer the ends. Itll give it more shape, and youll like how it feels. Mine is long, and straight, and have also thought about layers for the same reason of it being so even, but I went in and had them layer my ends up about 3-4 inches. It took some weight off my head and it gave it a better shape. It lays nicer and Im happy with it. Its up to you, have fun with it, dont do too much when you go in the first time, maybe do the ends first, and if you want more, you can go back. It doesnt take that long to grow out layers, especially if youre taking a good vitamen everyday, and youre keeping your hair healthy.

it's up to you but if your hair is straight then okay layer it and if it's curly or wavey the don't do it trust me

Omgosh, you should SO do it, i have my hair in layers and i absolutely love it!!!It does take a while to grow out but it is so worth it!!!

I have curly thick hair, and I got mine layered, I found that it my haed felt a lot lighter when I got it done......and my hair wasn't as poofy.

basically if you want your layers gone you will have to cut it to its shortest layer wgen you decide you dont want ti anymore and that is what i did but i like how it turned out some people dont so that is just some information about it

If you get long layers, you will keep most of your length, but add volume and style. And long layers will grow out faster... if you get tired of them, you can just trim your hair without losing too much length.

get Long layers that way they don't cut to much off of your hair, layers make your hair beautiful! I have long curly hair and I get long layers.. gives your hair more body also.. I hope this helps.. good luck! Wink Wink****

Just tell them to put "long" layers in. You still keep your length but it will add body to your hair.
