Can i texturize my hair without cutting it ?

I want to put a texturizer in hair but i heard you have to cut it 1st. i dont want to cut my hair . i want the long and wavy look in my hair ..help!!

I get the long, wavy look in my hair without cutting, although it does help if your original haircut has some long layers (this makes it easier for your hair to move). My secret:

1. Shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo and use a deep conditioner. Rinse well.

2. Wrap hair in a hair towel for at least half an hour, to get out most of the moisture.

3. Coat damp hair with mousse, pull hair back into a bun and let the mousse soak in for about half an hour.

4. Blowdry with your head flipped upside-down.

5. When your hair is dry, take a section of your hair and spray it with hairspray. Wrap it around a curling iron and clamp down for about twenty seconds. Gently unclamp (just a bit) and let the iron slip out without messing up the curl. When you've done half your head, re-spray everything with hairspray and then do the same thing to the other side (making sure to do a final whole-head spray).

6. Wait five minutes or so, flip your head over and gently shake out the girls.

You'll get Cosmo-worthy hair and it's soooo easy!

You can't do that with long/longer hair. It want look right especially if your hair is already relaxed. the texturizer adds "texture" to natural texture.

I've always been told that you should cut it first so that your hair can grow out with the texturizer in it. Of course a texturizer is used with natural hair. Have you heard of Miss Jessies Salon? They are based out in New York and they have a process similar to a texturizer called a Silkener. It doesn't seem like you have to cut your hair off when you have a Silkener done.
