Loss of hair after proper dieting and exercising?! WIll cutting short my hair stop hair loss?

I realise my hair is dropping alot more than normal after i do proper dieting and regular exercising. What reasons could it be? I been counting what i eat and i am sure im not under eating and have been receiving enough nurition and vitamins. I jog for 30mins daily too! I had lost about 7 kg within 2 months. Before i start my dieting, i had a very unhealthy diet, almost fastfood for all 3 meals. I am suspecting the lost of hair is probably due to the sudden change of diet. Is that possible? Since my body had a sudden change (even if it is a healthy one), i think hormone level went unbalance? I been dropping hair for 2 weeks now, what should i do? Will cutting my hair short prevent more hair loss? Thinking of getting a close shave or something if it works

Sorry, but cutting your hair just makes it grow faster the shorter it is, it's not going to change your amount of hairloss. It's a genetic thing, I'm just guessing, but does your mom's dad have hairloss?

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

My mum doesn閳ユ獩 let me cut my hair at all. She says I have to let it grow but I find it difficult to look after long hair so I plan on cutting it myself. Ive got friends but they aren閳ユ獩 over much to help me out with cutting my hair so I閳ユ獡 left doing it myself. I usually get it right doing it myself and getting it level too but sometimes I get it wrong. Do you have any tips of how to cut my hair right and level? I know its stupid but I need help lol and no mean answers please!

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

I'm with you!...I cut my hair last week and im like 17 yrs old..and it's good...

flip your hair down like u'r bowing then split ur hair in the middle then comb it (has to be wet or kinda wet)

then u see that ur hair's tip,try cutting it few inches off..remember cut it straight horizontaly all the way at the tip of ur hair..

then flip ur hair back....

it'll look nice...

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

1. get a large bowl

2. get some sharp scissors

3. put bowl on head

4. using sharp scissors cut all the way round

the end

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

I use my clipper (shaver) and use 2 mirrors and can give myself a pretty good short back and sides, lol.

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

I can't really help you but just try your best! your mom is way too protective... not letting you cut your hair?!? thats dirty, unhealthy and disgusting! i dont blame you for wanting to cut it yourself =)

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

Too bad your mum thinks you need long hair because you're the one who has to take care of it. You could really mess up your hair if you choose to cut it yourself. It's not easy to cut your own hair, especially in the back. Cutting the hair "even" not "level" is not so easy. Somehow, you need to convince your mum to let you get your hair cut. Good luck!!!

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

easy, use a single-blade razor to add layers! but i woudn't reccomend cutting it completely yourself. get a hairdresser to cut it straight across for you, then layer it yourself

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

Invest in a pet or human clipper which included attachments for length. This way you will get a cut from "Military Extreme" to British Punk spikey in just a few motions. If you have longer hair, utilize a front and back mirror which allows for side to side as well as front to back views. I have been DIY for years as you can get a clipper set for less than three haircuts at barber or beautician and you already sound like you know what you are doing. Can't say I have never given myself a fauly trim, but remember such an slip of the clip is neither fatal nor uncorrectable by a barber, beautician or yourself if you are sober the next day.

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

get yourself some clippers there great

Do you have any tips on cutting your hair yourself and getting it level too?

If you cut your hair yourself the probability that you will ask a question about how to fix a haircut you gave yourself is almost certain......

So, don't do it.

Cutting long hair short?

I've pretty much always had short hair..but grew it out about 6 years ago. It's very long and I like it...but sometimes it's a pain, and I'm thinking of cutting it off again. Has anyone chopped off their long hair and hated it? Or loved it?

Cutting long hair short?

I grew my hair out for the first time and then I was diagnosed with cancer (at age 24) and I sat on my bathroom floor crying and cutting it off once it started to fall out in handfulls. It was probably one of the most tramatic things I've ever had to do. (Now I don't mind it being short or even bald)

If you want to cut it short, consider taking it all off at once and donating it to "Lockes of Love". (Must be a mininum of 10 inches in length, I think) They use human hair to make wigs for kids with cancer. Some salons will cut it for free, if you are donating it to Lockes of love. My sister got hers done free at Great Clips when she donated hers.

Cutting long hair short?

I read somewhere that for long-haired people who want to get their hair cut short, they should cut it gradually. Start with cutting 2 or 3 inches off per visit so you'll have time to get used to the new style. And if you end up hating your new hairdo, there won't be as much damage as there would've been if you'd have cut it all off. %26lt;3

Cutting long hair short?

change is very good whether its for the good or the bad but a change like a haircut is not that dramatic maybe you should try cutting it half way between what it already is and how short you want it.

Cutting long hair short?

Go big and shave it all off!! It will grow back if you don't like it, but you will (buy a hat for winter)

Cutting long hair short?

cut little bits off until you reach a point you like

Cutting long hair short?

Okay I did it this summer. I hate it and regret it so much. DO NOT CUT IT. You will regret it me, my cousin, and my frienda alisha and brittney did it and we all hate it. Don't do it. I'm telling you.

Cutting long hair short?

IF YOU DO CUT IT, THINK ABOUT DONATING YOUR HAIR TO LOCKS OF LOVE.ORG TO HELP MAKE WIGS FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER, I HAD A GUY FRIEND WHO GREW HIS HAIR OUT JUST FOR THE THAT REASON.

Cutting long hair short?

I like shorter hair for the summer because all you have to to is toss some gel in it and go, no blow dryers or anything, if you get it all chopped off donate it to LOCKS OF LOVE.

Cutting my hair & want to donate it to a cancer society for a wig, know how to go about this?

I have naturally curly hair that is about 10inches long (straightened) and am cutting it short. I know people grow their hair long to then have a wig made and donate that to cancer societies for chemo patients but I've no idea how to go about this or who to speak to. The other problem is I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland and my options are limited, but any suggestions/contact details for anywhere would be great, it'll get the ball rolling.

We accept 10" minimum hair length (tip to tip). We cannot accept wigs, falls, or synthetic hair.

Please bundle hair in ponytail or braid.

Hair needs to be clean, dry, placed in a plastic bag, then padded envelope.

We need hair from men and women, young and old, all colors and races.

Hair may be colored or permed, but not bleached or chemically damaged (if unsure, ask your stylist).

Hair swept off the floor is not usable.

Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid.

Hair that is short, gray, or unsuitable for children will be separated from the ponytails and sold at fair market value to offset the cost of manufacturing.

You may pull curly hair straight to measure the minimum 10".

The majority of all hair donated comes from children who wish to help other children.

Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails for donation.

Please note: Anyone can cut your hair as long as the above guidelines are followed.

I think the charity for that is called "Locks of Love" or "Locks for Love" or something like that. Google it and call them up.

Cutting my hair %26amp; want to donate it to a cancer society for a wig, know how to go about this?

The American CAncer Society has offices all over the world. You should be able to locate a number in your area to call. Maybe your barber would be able to help you with that.

Cutting my hair %26amp; want to donate it to a cancer society for a wig, know how to go about this?

It is called locks of love and they need it to be about 12 inches long before they will take it as a donation, they need it to be at least this long so that they can knot it and secure it in.........

Hope this helps

wow sorry when I donated mine they said it had to be 12" mim...but as it was 15 inches it did not matter...glad they have changed the rules and you fall into this

They make the wigs and then donate them to children with cancer or any other disease that would cause hair loss. The women who runs it has a daughter with alopecia areata, so she started this organization to help other children with similar problems. I plan on donating my hair to there when it gets long enough.

There's a foundation called Locks of Love here in America, I don't know if you have one in Ireland. Your hair has to be unprocessed and 10 inches. Any of your local salons or Barber shops should be able to guide you in this.

Cheers to you!

Cutting my hair %26amp; want to donate it to a cancer society for a wig, know how to go about this?

I recently read in a magazine how to go about donating your hair...basically you put it into a ponytail, it has to measure 10 inches long, then you put it in a plastic bag, and you mail it to the Locks of Love company.

"Locks of Love" your hairdresser will know. My brother did it last year, they need 10 inches so it's perfect. Also some hairdressers may do it for free if you are donating it, my brothers did:)

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

My hair is thick and bulky and unless I don't straighten it, I can't stand it.

And my hair dresser told me that thinning hair with those special scissors isn't a good idea. So.... does anyone know if just regularly cutting your hair make it thinner?

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

Not long term. It's only thinner until it grows out. Those special scissors are just normal scissors that don't cut every hair, just some. It just makes some hairs really short...it doesn't stop them from growing.

Cutting hair will neither make it grow thicker or thinner. The hair follicles that create the hair don't care what happens to your hair once they made it. Hair and fingernails are very similar in composition and in the process that makes them grow. Trimming your nails won't make them grow back thinner or stop growing.

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

yes

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

Until it grows back, yes

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

I get my hair thinned with what they call the thinning or chunking shears, chances are if your hair dresser says its a bad idea its because she doesnt quite know what shes doing with them. I have mine done every other time i get my hair cut and i LOVE it , it is so much more comfortable . Regularly cutting your hair wont make it thinner but if your hair dresser wont thin it out then i would suggest getting a new hair dresser at least for a second opinion or getting your hair layered , get long layers though, short ones look realy choppy and if you have curly hair like mine it sticks up all over the place if you get short layers. I hope this helps..

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

Unless you layer your hair, it does not thin your hair, it just shortens it. Those "special" scissors do thin your hair, and is a good idea if it is done correctly.

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

I have thick dark brown hair. I got my hair thined on the sides and it helped to thin it a little ,but accept your thick hair so many people want thick hair.

Does cutting your hair make it thinner?

if you get it thinned out it will LOOK thinner

Cutting hair at home?

Is there any way that you can layer/style your hair doing it by yourslef or at home? Also how can you cut your own bangs and style it?

Cutting hair at home?

You can layer your own hair if you know the basics, but easier if you enlist the help of a friend.I'll make it easier by just telling you about the bangs, and if you feel comfortable doing that then you can try layers.Part off enough for a bang, and comb straight ,starting in the middle between your eyes snip off straight piece about half an inch to the desired length, using that piece as your guide add a little more hair from either side and cut even with first piece. Now you have your guide, don't try to hold everything you've snipped, only use about half an inch to continue(you should never have more hair in your hand than up to your first knuckle)once it is cut straight across, comb bangs straight up and holding your shears vertically(as if your cutting down into your hair, not straight across, like before) make little snips into the ends of your hair,it will take away the bluntness of the cut and give you a more realistic wisp to your hair.I hope the directions are easy enough to understand!

Cutting hair at home?

A girlfriend of mine cute her own hair and it turned out terrible. I wouldn't suggest cutting it at home especially if you have curly hair.

Cutting hair at home?

I'm not sure about doing bangs and styling, but I do use an electric hair cutter (like military barbers use for crew cuts) to save money. Maybe go to your nearest library- they probably have books on how to style and cut hair that could help you out!

I have a 4 Month old and i find that i am loosing ALOT of hair. My Question is Will Cutting it Short

Right now my hair is past my shoulders, its also seems alot drier then normal, everyone is telling me to Chop it off... but I really dont want to unless it will help. ... Its hard to belive that loosing this much hair wont make me go bald.... I know that it stops at aroung 6-9 months generally i just wanna know WILL CUTTING IT SHORT HELP?????

I have a 4 Month old and i find that i am loosing ALOT of hair. My Question is Will Cutting it Short help?

I cut mine short because my long hair would almost come out in clumps when I brushed it. By cutting it shorter it helped it from getting pulled out my hairbrush although some still fall out but not as much.

About the same time I cut it chin length I started taking prenatel vitamins. I took them for about 6 weeks. Worked for me and in 7 months my hair was to my shoulders and a few months after that well past it so I had my long hair back.

I have a 4 Month old and i find that i am loosing ALOT of hair. My Question is Will Cutting it Short help?

Cutting it short has nothing to do with your scalp.Keep taking your prenatal vitamins because that will help with stopping the hair loss and use a deep conditioner to help with the dryness.I would recommend Bonemarrow found at Sallys

I have a 4 Month old and i find that i am loosing ALOT of hair. My Question is Will Cutting it Short help?

dont. Keep taking the prenatal pills. it makes your hair and nails grow really fast.

I have a 4 Month old and i find that i am loosing ALOT of hair. My Question is Will Cutting it Short help?

your hairs falling out coz of having a baby...doesnt matter what length it is, it will still happen. You wont go bald coz for every strand of hair you lose, a new one grows in its place. It will stop falling out as much soon. Dont cut your hair.

I have a 4 Month old and i find that i am loosing ALOT of hair. My Question is Will Cutting it Short help?

Don't cut your hair!!! The same thing happened to me. I called my doctor because it was so bad!! Keep taking your prenatal vitamins it really does help!

Help on razor cutting / feathering hair?

Ok, so I've gone to the 4 different barbers. And none of them tend to understand the idea of what I want about what I want in my hair. So I've decided to come here! Well, first off I'm a guy, and I guess, for lack of a better word you could call my hair "emo." I have it parted on my left eye swooping down to my lip and its getting near the tip of my back so I think it's time for a cut.

Now then, what I want is to get it cut a decent bit, but I want it very choppy and layered, some friends advised me to give a full razor cutting a try without any scissors to avoid any bluntness. I'm looking for kind of feathered look wanting to get it to swoop over one eye in a curve and on both sides kind of get the choppy curve (not that dull curve that looks like a helmet on your head) to about the length of my lips so to speak.

Sorry I'm not entirely sure on what I'm talking about but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Help on razor cutting / feathering hair?

try a salon instead of a barber. razors are damaging to the hair. the stylist can "point" cut the hair so that it creates a jagged edge, much like a razor, but not damaging like the razor. hope this helps =)

Help on razor cutting / feathering hair?

NO RAZOR CUTS!!!! UNLESS YOUR SHAVING THE HAIR OFF! HAVE BEEN A COSMETOLOGIST FOR MANY YEARS NOW AND TO GET A FEATHERED LOOK IT NEEDS TO BE LAYERED AND THESWOOP PART IS UP TO YOUR WHEN BLOWDRIEG THE HAIR ALL THOUGTHE TECHN. THAT MAKES YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE OK?THATS IMPORTANT AND GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND...YOU WILL LOOK JUST AS HANDSOME AS BEFORE!!!

A few questions about cutting off a few inches of my hair?

Hellooo :) My hair is naturally wavy/curly and a bit past my shoulders with layers and it is very thick [picture = http://photos-k.ak.facebook.com/photos-a... ... you can kind of tell where my shortest layer is]. It's been that way for YEARS and I am in the process of growing out my hair long, but I really hate my layers, especially when I leave my hair curly.

I've been thinking of cutting the length of my hair off up to my shortest layer, so it would all then be one length and then I will let it grow out that way.

example- http://photos-373.ll.facebook.com/photos... [not the best picture of the person haha, but you get the idea hairwise]

example 2- http://photos-373.ll.facebook.com/photos... [girl on left]

My questions are: 1. Would this be a good idea? 2. About how long do you think that girl's hair is?

A few questions about cutting off a few inches of my hair?

lol, i have about the same kind of hair as you. i think you definatly could cut your hair to the shortest layer if thats what you want to do. i really think it would work. and you just dont want to have a hair cut that you dont like while you wait for it to grow. good luck =)

A few questions about cutting off a few inches of my hair?

yes it would be a good idea because lots of people with your hair type have cut their hair to the shortest layer and it came out great and i think that girl hair is about pass shoulder length

A few questions about cutting off a few inches of my hair?

well i really like the girls hair in the pic (2nd). It is really cute. If you are that concerned about your wavy hair you could buy a straightener and straighten it. I think the girls hair is about 3-5 inches shorter than yours. It would also be cute with a swooping bang like this pic

http://image.jw3.jamspiritsites.com/dunc...

I hope this helps ;)

A few questions about cutting off a few inches of my hair?

Well, just for starters, I also have thick dark brown hair that's naturally curly. It's quite long now but it used to be your length too!

I WOULD NOT recommend cutting it all one length. When you have thick hair, it will look really bulky and not-as-hot as you might want it to be. The example girl in the picture has very thin hair so it looks okay....thick hair will be bulkier and if you have layers, this can balance this affect.

Keep the layers - perhaps ask your hairdresser to use a razor technique while cutting your hair - its where they will use a razor and thin out lots of bulkiness - it will help thin out the super-thickness and it won't be so heavy either. It might be easier for you to style too when its not so thick (mine is anyway).

You could always grow your hair out a bit longer and continue to get trims so you can make your layers longer. With longer hair, the curls/waves will be weighed down and won't curl as much as they would if its shorter.

Hope I made sense, lol. Good luck!

Oh, btw the girl's hair is slightly shorter than yours. If you straightened your hair likes hers, yours would definately be longer than that.

A few questions about cutting off a few inches of my hair?

I love your hair! You are beautiful! Probably any style would look great on you. Give it a try. Hair always grows back.

Will cutting my hair make it ten times worse and what should I use?

OK!? My hair right now is probally two to three inchess past my shoulders(long) Its always been real frizzy and full of dead ends I was thinking of cutting it above my shoulder or atleast shoulder lenght but I'm scared to death if I do It will turn into a complete frizz ball I'm not the type of girl that likes to spend hours fixxing my hair normally a little leave in conditioner couple brushes then throw it in a pony tail to keep it off of me,, But i want some layers and cut above my shoulder so I don't have to leave it in a pony tail every day...BUT POINT IS will having it cut that much off make it frizz out a whole lot since its already real frizzy and what can I use thats quick to fix this problem now and when I get it cut??

Will cutting my hair make it ten times worse and what should I use?

you said your hair has "dead ends", thats bad for your hair in the first place and will prevent it from growing. getting it cut will be a GOOD move for your do. plus there are products that will control that frizz. i'm not sure of the texture of your hair but talk to you stylist about that when you get it cut and he/she will be able to recommend something right for you

good luck and go for it!

Will cutting my hair make it ten times worse and what should I use?

It will be fine just make sure you brush it well

Will cutting my hair make it ten times worse and what should I use?

Number 1 - if you have curly or frizzy hair the ONLY time you should brush it is right before you shower. Brushing it seperates the curles and poofs it out. Leave in conditioner is not gonna cut it. You have to use moose or gel, scrunch and dont touch until it is dry. Once it is dry you can run your fingers through it a little to get a more natural, softer look - but not too much. You are right, the shorter your hair, the less weight and the more curl. Measure how much hair you need to reach into a pony tail, start there. If you like where it is going and want to cut more and/or add layers then do a little more. It is so much easier if you go slow. So what if you have to pay someone 2 or 3 times to cut your hair. If wack too much off I bet you'd gladly pay that to get your hair back!

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

Peanut butter is the best choice it works well in getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it? See reference below %26amp; I have used it on my girls.

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

Peanut butter breaks down the gum and it will come out easily.

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

peanut butter

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

ice. put ice in a plastic bag surroung the gum with it and hold on as long as it takes the gum to go hard, comb out, good luck

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

If your hair isn't to short, put the hair dryer on high heat %26amp; blast it directly on the gum. Its gonna take a couple of minutes but it should start to get really soft where you can pull or comb it out. This happened with my son %26amp; it worked really well.

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

Wrap up in a plastic baggie, a few cubes of ice. Freezing the gum hardens it and it becomes easier to pull off.

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

Yes, there is a product call Goo Gone it can be found in Walgreen's or maybe any drug store. You make can find it in a Home Dept. This product is just for that. Plenty of time I had to use this product over and over again. This works miracles. Good Luck! It has a nice citrus smell too.

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

Believe it or not: peanut butter! I don't know how, but it works!

Or you could use ice. It hardens the gum and makes it easier to pull out.

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

put peanut butter in your hair and it will wash right out

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

When I was younger it happened to me all the time and have long hair and cutting it wasn't an option. So...

1. hold ice on the gum for a few minutes

2. put mayonaise on it. the oil in it will help the gum slide right out.

Does anyone know a good way of getting chewing gum out of your hair without cutting it?

Use Peanut Butter probably the Creamy type just rub some through where the gum is.

Cutting my fiance's hair?

My fiance's mom usually cuts his hair because apparently he's been scared of barbers/stylists since he was little. he recently asked me to cut his hair next time. i have a little experience so i won't be going about this totally blindly, but is there an easy kind of "how to" site for cutting men's hair?

Cutting my fiance's hair?

I don't know about websites, but there is a book called "Haircutting for Dummies." I cut my husband's hair and my own sometimes. Just follow the lines of the way it's already been cut, and pull pieces of hair from each side out at the same time to make sure it's even. If he doesn't like it, let his mother do it. She'll love that, and that's one less thing you have to do for him.

Cutting my fiance's hair?

Tell him you love him but ,your not his mother and you would love to see him with his first real haircut. Drop a hint to his mother that you are not crazy about grown men who need child like services from mother.

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy

Yeah, it'll get a little puffy unless you have the stylist texturize and possibly thin your hair out a little bit. Layers will help the puffiness a great deal.

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

It depends what you want, but if you go to a good hairdresser they can advise you depending on how long you spend on your hair etc and where to put the layers to stop it going puffy.

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

That would depend on how relaxed your curls are. If you have very tight curls, then yeah they most likely will puff because right now the weight is keeping your hair down. But why would you want to cut off your beautifull long curls? It's hard to grow back. You should get it shaped with some nice layers, that will revamp your hair if you're looking for a change.

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

not if you use correct products in it. Just put a little hair gel evenly throughout the hair. Your hair should look wnderful.

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

oh ya, it will. it will become Beyonce's afro in Gold Member movie

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

It depends on how short you cut it? My hair is really curly and I cut it to right below my shoulders, but had them cut in short layers, so my curls are big and thick.

Deffinitely ask your stylist if short layers would work for you.

They deal with all kinds of hair, and all hairdressers have a good idea of what will look good on a client.

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

well my aunt had long curly hair.then she cut it right below her shoulders and it became puffy and frizzy!

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

It maybe will but try using a shampoo and conditioner that helps for frizzy/poofy hair, I suggest use Herbal essences None of your frizzness, Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine or Sunsilk anti poof

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

yes, it will.

but it depends on how thick and how short you will cut it....

curly hair is beautiful but needs extra care...you need a lot of moisturizer... or leave on conditioner so your hair wouldn't get too puffy...

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

Like everyone else said, it depends.

The best advice I have though is get it cut when its DRY and how you like to be curled (with whatever products in it you normally use). If you get it cut wet like they normally do with straight hair, there's no telling what will happen when it dries and curls up.

Trust me, I've been a victim of the poof.

Im thinking about cutting my hair, but I have long curly hair and everyone tells me it will get puffy. Will it?

I had a best friend who had VERY CURLY HAIR and when she cut it YES it seemed very puffy cause the curls pull up without the length to weigh them down. I don't know how much time you want to spend on your hair but from watching her daily groom session she she would apply lots of moose to her wet hair and brush and blow it as straight as possible, it looked good after, it was never "straight" but it was nice. If you go to the salon ask them about layering, it might be an option to decrease the puff.

I'm African American and want to go natural without cutting my hair. What do I need to do?

My hair is damaged from relaxers and they don't last that long. I want to grow it out but don't know to much about going natural. Is it a good idea? What could I put on my newgrow to keep it from getting to coarse?

I'm African American and want to go natural without cutting my hair. What do I need to do?

you can get braids added to your hair.....let it continue growing out and keep getting your hair rebraided.it will grow out in no time.

I'm African American and want to go natural without cutting my hair. What do I need to do?

If you don't cut your hair it will fall off anyway because the perm and the natural wont stay together. You need to cut it if you don't want to keep on perming it.

I'm African American and want to go natural without cutting my hair. What do I need to do?

No, don't try to grow out a relaxer. Because the ends of the hair will fall out. The best way to go natural is to cut all the relaxer in your hair and wait for it to grow back. Also use Cream of Nature hair products...it will leave your hair soft and help it grow healthy...Good Luck =]

I'm African American and want to go natural without cutting my hair. What do I need to do?

The true answer is there is no really quick or easy way. A relaxer is permanent. It cannot be removed. There are no products that will remove a relaxer (other than scissors). If you want to just grow your hair out to a natural state, be prepared for breakage. Its been 2 years since I stopped relaxing my hair and its healthy. I can see where my new growth is when its wet. -chin level. the relaxed hair portion is still stringy and straight. I will eventually cut it as I trim it every 3 months. Trimming hair ensures good health. Just flat iron new growth to match texture of relaxed hair and trim every 3 months. Also, use good hair products like aphogee to help stop breakage.

I have to get drug tested, by them cutting my hair and i took one hit of weed a week and a half ago?

will it still be in my system if it was about two weeks ago??? what can i do bc i have a hair drug test in the next few days! and im sure it's not a urine test!

I have to get drug tested, by them cutting my hair and i took one hit of weed a week and a half ago?

sorrry man...ur f*cked

I have to get drug tested, by them cutting my hair and i took one hit of weed a week and a half ago?

You're screwed.

I have to get drug tested, by them cutting my hair and i took one hit of weed a week and a half ago?

naughty naughty!! i think they can still find it in your system until about 4 weeks. but if its a urine test then u should be fine..... r u nervous?

I have to get drug tested, by them cutting my hair and i took one hit of weed a week and a half ago?

It could be in your system, but it will not be in your hair, if you washed your hair before the test. Nothing from your system will be in your hair unless it grows there and in the time from your smoking until the cutting you would not have any drugs in your hair.

I have to get drug tested, by them cutting my hair and i took one hit of weed a week and a half ago?

ummm.. if it was a urine test you would be fine, but if its a hair test then its not looking too good for you. They can trace every type of drug you've tried like, a year after you've tried it.

i guess if you dont want them to find out you'll have to shave all your hair off asap.

well. good luck.

I have to get drug tested, by them cutting my hair and i took one hit of weed a week and a half ago?

Even if you shave your hair, you are out of luck.

How do i change my looks with cutting my hair?

I wear a cap cause my hair is thinning out in the middle

How do i change my looks with cutting my hair?

Instead of a cap, wear a pair of sunglasses. Depending on the size of your thinning hair you can wear those aviator sunglasses.

But heres the catch instead of wearing them on your face, lift them up so that they are resting on your head, right on top of your thinning area.

Its so perfect it's fail-safe.

How do i change my looks with cutting my hair?

thanks all Report It

xposed it...

d one thing for great looking is confidence.... start by removing dat cap...

How do i change my looks with cutting my hair?

You can dye or highlight your hair. Try a different hat. If your hair is thinning get some Avacor or something like that.

How do i change my looks with cutting my hair?

go to a reputable hair stylist for starters. Then maybe some layering and lighter highlights on top with a darker color underneath. Get a style that you can use a product like Bed Head- a hair gel that lets you scrunch your hair into a carefree style. This way you can style it fluffier on top over the thinning area. (just an idea) Also, use a good shampoo and conditioner that is made for thinning hair.

rogaine

How do i change my looks with cutting my hair?

You don't, and you can't do anything about a receding hairline.

If I were you, take off the ballcap, and shave your head....most of the men with a receding hairline have the hairstylist use a #1 clipper gaurd on their heads, and just go ahead and get it overwith...why fight a loosing battle? Embrace the fact that you are going to eventually be bald, hell...who knows, it may just be the sexiest look you've ever had?? Grow a nice moustache and goatee to go with the new clippered look....

I love the look, my husband has a receding hairline and thats what we've done with his hair, that and the goatee are great together.....he's sexy as hell.....

first, go to a good salon/stylist. then, tell your stylist what you want (be able to tie it into a pony tail...etc.) and ask them what cut they could do keeping in mind what you want and also your face shape and what would look best for it. also, it might be helpful to tell them what kind of trend you follow (prep, emo, ghetto, "trendy"...etc.).

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

hair gets cut at the end and it actually grows at the root??? so how does that work???

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

The dead ends make it unhealthy %26amp; your scalp won't 'thrive' nearly as much

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

it is true your hair grows from the roots however your hair can break from split ends. keeping your hair trimmed keeps the ends healthy so they don't break

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

trimming your hair helps to get rid of the dead matter at the ends of your hair. this helps to make your hair lighter so it's easier to grow.

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

thats a lengthy process but you should trim half a mil every 2 months to prevent breakage and it helps your hair growe faster also take silica vitamins and ask the dealer at your local health store for a good vitamin to make your hair longer and stronger

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

it doesn't it's an old wives tale.

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

Cutting your hair DOESN"T make it grow faster at all. Cutting your hair keeps all the mature (old) hair off. I mean hair that youv'e blown dry, combed, and brushed the longest. That hair is more prone to breakage and damage. By cutting that hair, you don't experience the breakage that you normally get.

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

Cutting your hair takes off all the ends that are split due to enviourmental exposure. The ends are and look much fresher and no more splits.

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

I've never heard that cutting your hair makes it grow faster but maybe it does. What I do know is the shorter the thicker.Like for example my sis has really thick hair, so thick it used to give her headaches and it took at least 3 days to dry.my mom thought cutting it would help the headaches and such so she tried it after it was cut it made it worse. She consulted the stylist and the stylist informed her that "the shorter the thicker" and said really the only thing that would help was thinning my sisters hair.So she did. But get this she had to thin it 4 times, and it still wasn't exactly thin, but it wasn't so thick either, but 4 TIMES! LOL.

P.S trimming your hair gets rid of dead ends and splits that hold up the hairs growing process.

How could cutting you hair more often help it grow faster?

i dunno, thats a good question

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

I am an African American female and my hair comes a few inches past my shoulders and I really want to layer my hair! I always heard that it takes a long time for your hair to grow out of layers! I actually want my hair to grow but I am tired of my hair being so even, I was something different but I don閳ユ獩 really want to cut a lot of my hair! Can you still get layers without cutting a lot of your hair and will your hair grow back longer?.....Any suggestions?

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

You could do layers, or you could just taper it more around your face and still have your length. OR, you could just have them layer the ends. Itll give it more shape, and youll like how it feels. Mine is long, and straight, and have also thought about layers for the same reason of it being so even, but I went in and had them layer my ends up about 3-4 inches. It took some weight off my head and it gave it a better shape. It lays nicer and Im happy with it. Its up to you, have fun with it, dont do too much when you go in the first time, maybe do the ends first, and if you want more, you can go back. It doesnt take that long to grow out layers, especially if youre taking a good vitamen everyday, and youre keeping your hair healthy.

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

it's up to you but if your hair is straight then okay layer it and if it's curly or wavey the don't do it trust me

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

Omgosh, you should SO do it, i have my hair in layers and i absolutely love it!!!It does take a while to grow out but it is so worth it!!!

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

cut...Put shampoo and cut...

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

I have curly thick hair, and I got mine layered, I found that it my haed felt a lot lighter when I got it done......and my hair wasn't as poofy.

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

basically if you want your layers gone you will have to cut it to its shortest layer wgen you decide you dont want ti anymore and that is what i did but i like how it turned out some people dont so that is just some information about it

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

If you get long layers, you will keep most of your length, but add volume and style. And long layers will grow out faster... if you get tired of them, you can just trim your hair without losing too much length.

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

get Long layers that way they don't cut to much off of your hair, layers make your hair beautiful! I have long curly hair and I get long layers.. gives your hair more body also.. I hope this helps.. good luck! Wink Wink****

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

Just tell them to put "long" layers in. You still keep your length but it will add body to your hair.

Thinking about cutting my hair in layers...?

That would be cute you would just have to get it done by and sytlist. I say go for it, Its good to try new things.

Cutting of the Hair?

does getting your tips cut off really help your hair grow faster?

i have split ends. even my split ends have split ends.

ive done it like 4 times and i dont see the difference.

is it just bull or is it true?

Cutting of the Hair?

well it makes the base of the hair thicker. so it might help?

but if you trim your hair on a new moon... it seriously works. ive done it and it grew a ridiculous amount. no joke. im thinking it had something to do with gravity.

or you could take hair/nail vitamins to speed up the process

Cutting of the Hair?

i dunno about grow fast but it looks neater.

Cutting of the Hair?

No, it does not. Cutting your split ends off only keeps the split hair in check. If you want your hair to grow, the best way to take care of it is to give up shampoo and use conditioner to wash your hair - it will take your scalp a while to get used to this treatment, but it will not be oily then. Use a boar-bristle brush - NOT plastic - to distribute your scalp's natural oils, and a comb to detangle. The best comb you can use is a wooden one, but go with a wide-toothed one anyhow.

Keep your hair tied back neatly in a braid or up, especially when you're in windy conditions or sleeping. Never brush when wet, and don't apply heat (eg hair dryer), ever.

If your hair feels dry at all, you can take two to three drops of almond or similar oil in your palm and stroke down the length of your hair for moisture. This is also temporarily seal your split ends, if you have any.

Cutting of the Hair?

getting your tips cut off once in a while helps your hair grow faster a little

but for the split ends

there's a product from vs sassoon which helps with that

just apply it to your hair ends

and the splits will disappear

:)

Cutting of the Hair?

yes

Cutting of the Hair?

Unfortunately it is true trimming your hair helps it grow faster.

Cutting of the Hair?

yes. cutting your hair will make it grow slightly faster, but it wont make much of a difference if you only cut it like once a year. if you cut a tiny bit of every month, your hair will be growning very very fast soon

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

hi, i heard that if you put your hair up in a really high pony tail and cut straight across then when you put it down u get choppy layers,

im going to the hairdressers to get it cut into choppy layers but if that way works then i might just do that myself instead, anyway has any one done it ? does it work and do u have any pics of what it came out like ??

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

No!

Dont cut your hair

Thats the worst hair experience anyone can do with their own hair

Trust me

I've been there, done that, regretted it.

Go to the hairdressers and say you want choppy layers, trust me, you will not regret it

As a trained hairdresser myself, i know how these things work

Putting it high up and cutting along wont make it come out in layers you think it would

Because all your strands are different sizes, so one clump could amount very short and the other could go really edgy

So go to the hairdressers

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

Well /ACTUALLY/ you can, if it's a loose pony tail and you have the ponytail on top of you head, I've done it and I loved it. Report It

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

If you do you'll be heading for disaster.. Go to the salon!

Oh I know they bore you with drivvelling small talk, but at least you'll get a decent cut..

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

omg who told u that?no way, dont do that u will ruin your hair,go the hairdressers as u said and get it done professionally hun, good luck, bet it will be lovely.take care..x

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

It does work - you need to twist your hair aswell and then cut it. The only thing is that it doesn't change the length, so you may still have split ends etc.

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

If you bend right over and brush your hair straight down and then cut it you will get a natural layer.

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

If you can afford the hairdresser, then give it a go. The worst thing that can happen is you have to let them fix it!

Good luck.

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

Bad idea. Better to go to the hairdresser's and get it done properly.

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

In all honesty...i just wouldn't. I mean, tidy up your own hair cut with some little sharp scissors...BUT LEAVING THE CUT AND STYLE TO A PROFESSIONAL. Do you want to look like your lil brother cut your hair? NO

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

Yes. this is a basic layered look....i have done it many times in my 54 yrs on Earth. BUT...now a days they teach cosmetologists better ways to do 'choppy layers' and they have better scissors and razor cutters with choppy edges for different layered looks, so now I pay the $35. to go and let the experts do their thing. It is better, depending on what you do in life and what your expectations are. If you are a housewife and home with small kids and have limited extra $$$, then by all means do the high poney tail, layered look. BTW~~high ponytail means use the top of your ears as the ponytail height, no higher. If you have a professional outside the home job and the extra $$$ to go to a salon and get 'choppy layered' then let them do it. I wish I had the pix to send you, but I've been doing it since before computers even existed. You need good scissors that are sharp to do a good job. don't use your kids school scissors that have been cutting paper....the sharper scissors, the better the outcome. I was a cosmetologist prior to nursing school, so I had scissors that cost me $160.00 (those are the fairly inexpensive ones, too).

Good luck and if you do it, let me know how it turned out. You might let a friend do the cutting....or a husband/boyfriend...just easier to do.

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

DO NOT DO THIS!!

This can sometimes lead to a un-desired effect some layers will be to short and will stick out at the top of your head.

TRUST ME: I did this once and my hair turned out a disaster then my friend tried her hair turned out really bad to we ended up getting our hair in boy-cuts!!

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

Hi One day I decided I wanted rid of my waist length hair so I tied it back into a LOW pony and cut it off....the overall effect was the 'pob' but I dont advise you to do this as it really does need neatening up afterwards. Definitely dont put it into a high pony as that would leave you with very short bits on top of your head!!

p.s after I cut it myself, I had it neatened up and then decided to go with a shror cropped look. 2 years later I have now got healthy shoulder length hair (mine does grow really quick because I have chopped it all off once before and it took 4 years to go to my waist). I'm never gonna have short hair again....twice was too much..made me feel a bit unfeminine having very short hair. The 'pob' is gorgeous though.

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

Don't do it. Go to a salon and have it done professionally. Yes it will give you layers but it will need to be tidied up otherwise it will look a complete mess.

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

my sister did that to me when i was little and ...i can still remember how horribly it looked, and how sorry i was to have let her mess with my hair. so do not try this ...unique method:)

Layereing your own hair by cutting a pony tail?

sounds scary. I wouldnt do it.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

Just get it trimmed, not cut. You can't undo the damage already done. You just have to cut it off. That is dead hair that's breaking apart. You have to get rid of it.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

Try a deep moisture shampoo/conditioner. Altho, once its broken... you can't fix it.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

not possible

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

shave it off!!

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

You have to get the slit ends cut off. That's what I had to have done, and they only cut about 1/4 of an inch off.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

you cant.

cuting them out is the only way hun.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

i think it is impossible without cutitng it but after u cut it, u can prevent split ends by putting olive oil in ur hair about once a week regularly.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

do not click on "man"s link...he includes logobc.com in ALL his answers...it won't help at all.... go look at all the questions he's answered...its creepy.

Anyway, there are some shampoos that hydrate your hair, decreasing split ends.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

sunsilk always is great for almost any hair disaster

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

You can't. Have a trim.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

Use rollers, they will ensure a stronger hair texture. It wont fall out though but you can trim it bit by bit. It doesnt hurt I promise.

The other is way to have curls all the time.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

You can only cut them off. But jsut do a little at a time. I had horrible split ends and every month I would just get a 1/4 inch cut off until my hair grew out healthy. You can always start with a good inch and just stay on top of it.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

well i have been trying to find a better way myself. i straighten my hair every other day with an iron and it damages quickly. but what i find that helps is just using extra conditioner. sorry if I'm not that much help. that's all i know.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

Unfortunately ther is NO REMEDIES for split ends, either that you cut them off.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

You can't. The reason for that is that once the hair shaft has started to split it will carry on up the shaft unless you cut it off. nothing can fix it. You can use conditioner to smooth down the shaft and give the appearance of better hair but it will not fix the problem.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

You cant, you trim it and then you start to look after it,with not over heating and a good shampoo, contitioner, and no cheap products

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

u have to cut it.:( but to keep ur hair healthy u need to stop blowdrying. be careful nd gentle when u r combing ur hair. eat vitamins. use conditioners, good quality shampoos nd dont forget hair mask cuz they r much more moisturising than every day conditioners.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

u cant.

How can i get rid of split ends in my hair without cutting it?

If you have coarse hair wrap you hair with a silk or satin scarf every night and moisturize it every day our hair is prone to dryness and brakeage.

Did I make a mistake cutting my hair?

I used to have long hair and then i got bored with it...im wondering if i made a mistake about it?

Did I make a mistake cutting my hair?

This is the typical post-haircut shock. I always grow my hair really long and then chop off a couple feet and start again. The first few times I did it, it was so weird! I would stare at myself in the mirror because it didn't even look like me! Haha. But I think you'll adjust to your new 'do and probably come to love it because it's SO much easier to maintain and style.

Did I make a mistake cutting my hair?

......hun i cant tell if you made a mistake or not unless i saw a picture! .....

wait or do u mean was it a bad choice? well if it looks nice and if you like it.......then yes it is a good choice.......idk its whatever you like

Did I make a mistake cutting my hair?

if you like how your hair turned out then no it wasn't a mistake. if now then your hair will always grows back. for me around an inch or so every month maybe?

Did I make a mistake cutting my hair?

i personally like long hair. but its only hair. whatever you do with it, it will grow back.

Can i texturize my hair without cutting it ?

I want to put a texturizer in hair but i heard you have to cut it 1st. i dont want to cut my hair . i want the long and wavy look in my hair ..help!!

Can i texturize my hair without cutting it ?

I get the long, wavy look in my hair without cutting, although it does help if your original haircut has some long layers (this makes it easier for your hair to move). My secret:

1. Shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo and use a deep conditioner. Rinse well.

2. Wrap hair in a hair towel for at least half an hour, to get out most of the moisture.

3. Coat damp hair with mousse, pull hair back into a bun and let the mousse soak in for about half an hour.

4. Blowdry with your head flipped upside-down.

5. When your hair is dry, take a section of your hair and spray it with hairspray. Wrap it around a curling iron and clamp down for about twenty seconds. Gently unclamp (just a bit) and let the iron slip out without messing up the curl. When you've done half your head, re-spray everything with hairspray and then do the same thing to the other side (making sure to do a final whole-head spray).

6. Wait five minutes or so, flip your head over and gently shake out the girls.

You'll get Cosmo-worthy hair and it's soooo easy!

Can i texturize my hair without cutting it ?

You can't do that with long/longer hair. It want look right especially if your hair is already relaxed. the texturizer adds "texture" to natural texture.

Can i texturize my hair without cutting it ?

I've always been told that you should cut it first so that your hair can grow out with the texturizer in it. Of course a texturizer is used with natural hair. Have you heard of Miss Jessies Salon? They are based out in New York and they have a process similar to a texturizer called a Silkener. It doesn't seem like you have to cut your hair off when you have a Silkener done. You should check out their website: www.missjessies.com

Hair sytlists: Cutting technique called Paneling?

What do you know about it? I've only found one web page that even had a picture and it wasn't a good one. Would this kind of cut work to give very fine and thin hair more body or volume?

Thanks

Hair sytlists: Cutting technique called Paneling?

I did a Google search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en%26amp;q=pan...

And I found this info:

PANELING

Who it works for: This cut works beautifully on fine hair. It's a short, edgier twist on layers that give you more volume. Hair that's too thick ends up looking like a mullet.

Tell your hairstylist: Instead of cutting on top of the hair, pull up the top layer and cut shorter, more angular pieces underneath.

Maintenance: Don't wash your hair everyday unless it's really oily. This style looks very "Bad Girl" when it's a little dirty.

Ice cubes all over it so it freezes and becomes hard and then it just breaks apart. Lot easier!

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

It will proaly be hard to remove, i know that nurses and etc. have these whips that they use to remove medical tape and adhesive and stuff but thats mainly on the skin. Not on like a surface that is unstable and easily torn like the hair, but it can if the hair can be maintained and stable. Try mostly whipping it and washing it. Try putting some ice on it and then going to work on it. Just basically go to work on it lol. This is what i think. This is what WikiHow thinks (same people as wikipedia) and you should try this over what i say lol. http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Gum-out-of-Yo... PEACE!

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

Freeze it with an ice cube. Or try baby oil/ cooking oil, depends on how much it is too. Also if you really can't get it out, call a salon and it's possible they might have a better solution. Good luck

PEANUT BUTTER.

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

HA! I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!

Ok, first, try soaking it for an hour or two in cooking oil.

You can just keep putting more on if you cant soak.

Another Idea is to hold the gummy part between two cubes of ice for about 30 sec. Then have someone try breaking the gum up by hitting it with something (If you can, that is)

After that, depending on if you can spare the money, Go to a beauty salon, (Id wash the mayo and ice out of my hair first though)

They might know something.

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

the peanut butter thing works

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

use hot oil, just make sure you not to burn your scalp, that will help for sure.

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

peanut butter

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

peanut butter

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

Peanut butter works so well because of the consistency... it's ultimately the oils that help to break done the gum... but the peanut butter's consistency is what helps to keep it in place.

How can i remove bubble gum from my hair without cutting it?

Get some ice cube and keep rubbing them over the bubble gum when its gone hard it should just break off the hair.

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

my mum has very long hair that just down to her middle thighs. She started to grow her hair when she was in her late 30's.Now she is 45 years old.A lot of ladies around my mun's age has cut their hair to neck length.Short hair maybe is the fashion of women in middle age.She wears her black straight mane into a huge braid bun that fixed on her head with a big hairnet.More and more friends of hers have began to think my mum's hairstyle is a totle failure, out of fashion, making my

mum being a freak. They haven't been succeeded on persuading her having a short haircut. But I think sooner or later,my mum would have to cut it short because so many friends don't like the hair of Rapunzel. And my mum has began to think about a short haircut.I like the hair very much.I don't want to cut it short and I think my mum likes the hair too.Should I give her some confidence on keeping hair that long or,I think ,tell her to cut it short for her own good? Tell me how to do my friends

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

My mom has very long hair too, which she refuses to cut.

She's had it long for yearsss.

Everyone tells her to chop it off,and she's considered it because with age,it's getting thinner.

And when hair thins,it does not look too great long.

She shouldn't let what other people say persuade her to cut it off,if she's happy with it long and (Rapunzel-like)...than,so be it.

It's her hair and her life, not her friends.

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

definetly get it cut shorter, she's not a teenager anymore. she needs a sleek and classy cut appropriate for her age.

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

Wow! That is very long.

Are the ends healthy and even? Does her hair get thinner at the ends? It sounds like she wear it up an awful lot. Why have long hair if you don't show it off?

Perhaps she should consider cutting it to a more manageable length? If she cuts it to her elbows it would still be long, but a more fashionable length that is easy to manage, and could be worn down. Many woman in their 40's wear long hair still. (just look at all the movie stars)

If it looks very healthy, then maybe she could just experiment with new ways to hold it off her face. If it's in the state I mentioned above, I'd consider a good trim to really keep it healthy.

Also, a good hair cut may actually make her look younger!

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

cut it shorter but not all the way to the shoulders. Just to a length your mom would be happy with. Also donate the cut hair to "Locks of Love" so that they can use it for cancer patients, this way she satisfies everyone and helps someone out at the same time.

Best of Luck

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

It is a judgement call. I'm for the shorter hair. Her hair is ridiculously too long. I agree with the author of the following:

"An older face framed with straggly long hair looks sad, even when it's not. It takes a young, round face with plump cheeks and a tight jawline to carry off long locks.

Then there's the unattractive truth that when most people get older, their hair changes texture and becomes coarse and difficult to tame. Think of all those elderly hippies with their brindled hair flying in the wind: not a good look.

The solution, if you are utterly determined to keep the long hair of your youth, is to bundle it away into a chignon, which is elegant if you're lucky enough to be as fine-boned as a ballerina, but far too stark for most of us.

And struggling with pins and combs every morning is an unbearable waste of time when you know you haven't unlimited time ahead.

So my advice to more mature women is stick to the short and curly, ladies, and you'll feel lighter and look younger. And remember, only Jerry Hall looks like Jerry Hall. The rest of us risk looking like Ozzy Osbourne."

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

Hi !! my mom is 57 %26amp; had been growing her hair out for a very long time, it was about thigh length too, i thought it was very pretty , she usually kept it in a braided ponytail. For a couple years she kept saying she was going to get it cut short, but i figured she would not be able to part with it after having it long for so many years, but about 2 months ago i was shocked when we went to visit her %26amp; her hair was about neck length, i didn't think she would actually get it cut, but she did, %26amp; even though i thought it was pretty the way it was, i also like her new look, but there are people she works with that keeps telling her that she shouldn't have got it cut, because it was so pretty, but there are others who say it looks better now. So i guess either way she goes, there are going to be people who gripe, because she needs to get it cut, %26amp; others who gripe because she does get it cut. Just tell your mom to do whatever makes her happy, don't try to please everyone else, because thats not going to happen, someone is going to gripe about it either way she goes. But if she does get it cut, suggest that she donate her hair to locks for love, my mom did.

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

tell her to cut it to her middle back or halfway to her elbow if she's willing

Keeping thigh-length-hair or cutting it short?Give some advice to my mum who is 45 years old?

Lucky for her to have such healthy hair! Usually women who are middle aged get their hair cut because it starts to get dry and/or gray and it is much more flattering when they cut it. Long hair ages people. With hair that long there really can't be any style, it just hangs there as long horse-tail looking hair. My opinion is that hair that long is only appropriate on girls under the age of 10. But really, it doesn't matter what the rest of us think. If your mom likes her hair then she can keep it. If she decides to cut it she doesn't have to go short either. Even cutting up to her mid back would add a ton of lift and allow her to get some layers or something so her hair could have a style. Her friends probably tell her to cut it because it doesn't look that good on her anymore (makes her look old). It tends to be far more flattering for a woman to have a polished style than just an insane mass of long hair. You said she wears it back in a braid all the time, so what is really the point of having it long? No one really sees it and it gets in the way. So i guess my vote would be to cut it but not really short, just enough to be able to put some layers in it and give it a style (think along the lines of Jane Seymour or Cindy Crawford).

I need a trimmer that's good for precise facial hair cutting, for things like shape-ups, g-line

I have looked at the Andis line of trimmers, but i'm not sure what i should be looking for when i buy a trimmer. Its for home use for myself, not for professional use. I am going to use it for shaping facial hair. I want one that is easy to use, precise, powerful, good quality (lasts a long time), and won't give me problems. I would also like to use it for trimming my facial hair. Also, it has to have a t-shaped head. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I need cute hairstyles for neck length hair that do not involve cutting any ideas?

Hi! I have neck length hair and I need some cute styles that do not involve cutting for school! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

I need cute hairstyles for neck length hair that do not involve cutting any ideas?

Twisting. Start at one ear and just start twisting to the other ear then pin. You could try all sorts of variations.

Also braiding, yes, your hair is too short for a ponytail braid, but I use to do a really elegant braid with my head upside down and for each twist of a braid, I'd pull back don't the middle of my head and I'd have an elegant flat-top braided design on my head. I'd end with a ponytail braid, but for you, I think an elegant wide barrette to keep it all in place. Btw, if you are not old enough for the word elegant, then it is also real cool.

I need cute hairstyles for neck length hair that do not involve cutting any ideas?

How about curling your hair at the end.

I need cute hairstyles for neck length hair that do not involve cutting any ideas?

my hair is shoulder length and sometimes it naturally curls right at the ends, but sometimes i just take a curler and curl the ends. Or you can make your hair wet and either use mouse or some kind of salon spritz that makes your hair look crimped

I need cute hairstyles for neck length hair that do not involve cutting any ideas?

do a cute little bufont in the front...secure with bobby pins and wear the rest out

I need cute hairstyles for neck length hair that do not involve cutting any ideas?

try french braid or a variation on a french twist

Who else thinks Jason Bourne is not good at cutting hair?

I love Matt/Jason and the Bourne Trilogy but everytime I watch the scene in The Bourne Idenity where he cuts Marie's hair, I have to start laughing. Thank goodness he became an actor instead of a hairdresser. Anyone else feel the same?

Who else thinks Jason Bourne is not good at cutting hair?

haha yeah he's not too careful. they did have bigger problems at the time though - and it turned out alright i think.

Who else thinks Jason Bourne is not good at cutting hair?

he purposely didnt cut her hair right, i doubt the director wanted bourne to focus on making her haircut perfect.

Should one cut their hair befor coloring or color before cutting?

If you might run out of hair dye then get it cut first .Assuming you are asking because you are doing the deed at home. Another reason to do it in this order is that if you are using multiple colours you can place them accordingly to compliment the cut. However when going to a salon they will almost always colour first and cut later. Reason is that professional colour goes on dry hair so it doesent get diluted. For a hairdresser to cut, dry, style and then colour , then wash again dry and style would take way too long.

Should one cut their hair befor coloring or color before cutting?

If you are colouring your hair at home, then you can colour before you cut or vice versa because the colour that you are using (box colour like Loreal Couleur Experte, etc.) is meant to be used all at one time. Box home colour and salon colour are two different products all together. There really is no comparison, except that they both go on clean, dry hair. Salon colour has more pigment, creating a richer colour on the client. Also, it's easily customizable and a good colourist will be able to create special colour formulas for clients that want a colour that no one else has.

The colour used at the salon is more concentrated than a home box colour therefore, only a little bit, depending on hair length and thickness, is used at a time. If you go to any given salon that does colour services, you may see that at their colour bar, there will be colour tubes that have been used. They are not contaminated and the colour is as vibrant and fresh as ever. Colour tubes are saved until the product has been completely used. At $8-$9+ per box/tube, colour is definitely not something that a stylist would want to waste.

So, if you are going to a salon, a stylist will cut a client's hair first and then colour to the cut. It doesn't make sense, especially financially, to colour before cutting since you would be wasting colour (and money).

Also, from a design standpoint, you wouldn't get the look that you want because the colour may or may not be in the right place, especially if you are getting multidimensional colour.

It would not take "too" long to do a cut and colour service on a client. First, the stylist will shampoo and condition the client's hair. Then, blow dry, colour, rinse and style. The client is paying for the service to be done correctly and this is the manner in which is it done.

If you would like your hair to stay healthy and achieve your desired colour, it would be better to go to a salon. It may cost more, but it's worth it. Stylists are trained to be haircare specialists, maintaining the health of the hair and scalp first before any other extras like haircolour. So whenever possible, try and book an appointment. You won't regret it.

Should one cut their hair befor coloring or color before cutting?

I don't know what you should do, but everytime I get my hair cut and colored they always do the coloring first.
