Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

my mom once told me cutting hair makes it grow faster. is that true?

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

hair grows one speed. period and the speed is determined by heredity and genetics....

in the spring there will be a burst of speed with the season for some odd reason ....but that's it...

Everyone's hair varies with the AVERAGE rate being 1/2 Inch per month. There is nothing approved by the FDA to speed up hair growth.

What your mother is referring to is............"IF" your hair is trashed....really trashed and is all split ends ( where one hair splits at the end and becomes 2). then those hairs of course will not grow as they will just keep splitting.

But If your avatar is correct and you are a guy, then you would most likely never ever have to worry about that...........know why? your hair is not long enough nor do most men put their hair through the torture we women do.....

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

yea it gets rid of the split ends

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

no

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

No, trimming makes it grow out neater though.

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

yes it is...they usually reccomend getting a haircut every 6-8 weeks...

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

It's true. It cuts off the dead parts and makes it grow quicker.

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

Actually it grows at the same rate, but keeping it trimmed keeps the ends healthy and they do not break off, thus it seems like it grows faster.

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

YES IF U CUT THE SPLIT ENDS BUT DONT CUT IT AND USE MOTIONS

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

My mom told me that too, including some friends so I guess it is true. Plus I think it gets rid of damaged hair as well.

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

if you trim off the split ends then it keeps your hair healthy. healthy hair grows faster than hair plauged with dead ends and split ends...so keep your hair trimmed and it will grow slightly faster!

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

Only if you have damaged ends, but you should cute every 2 months or so. your hair grows an half inch to a full inch every month so cutting often will only make it the same length or shorter. but if u want longer hair try massage the scapl with your fingers 2 times a day for 2-3 minutes. and remember clean hair is healthy hair

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

i don't think it does, i get my hair trimmed once a month to rid myself of those annoying split ends and my hair is still the same length it was in 1994

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL. Here's the thing with trimming hair...the longer you wait to trim hair, the more that needs to be trimmed. Split and broken ends can travel up the hair a good couple of inches. If you get your hair trimmed 1 inch every two weeks and you skip two weeks...that's 2 inches you will have to take off next time, in turn, making your hair look shorter at the time of that trim. See what I mean? It doesn't make your hair grow faster, it just keeps from having to get so much taken off because of damage accumulation. That's all it is.

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

I am sure it does. The longer the hair (firstly) the more it requires blood, and with millions of them blood supply and other essential nutrients get exhausted because the longer the hair, the more distance they (blood supply and nutrients) have to go. Secondly the longer the hair the weaker they become for the same above reason. When hair are cut and are shorter they get adequate blood supply and nutrients, and if they are cuit regularly, they maintain a healthy growth.

Does cutting hair allow it to grow faster?

No, the growth of the hair comes from the root which is on your scalp. So by cutting the ends doesn't make your hair grow any faster. But in summer weather hair grows about half an inch more each month.

THE TRUTH ABOUT HAIR - by Editor

Myth: Cutting hair helps it to grow better and faster.

Fact: Because hair is generally thicker at the base, it may give an illusion of being thicker when cut. Cutting your hair does not improve either its length or the rate at which it is growing (about half an inch in a month). However, in case of split ends, trimming helps to prevent the split from progressing up the strand and allows the hair to continue growing normally.
